So if you have a large female to male ratio, you’ll want to consider renting out a few extra porta-johns to accommodate this. You’ll also want to provide separate units for each gender if you want to make them feel more comfortable and safer.
Food and Drinks
If you’re serving food and drinks, you’ll need to add up to 20% more porta potties, especially if you’re serving alcoholic drinks. Alcohol is a diuretic, which means an increase in urine output.
Keep in mind that what goes in must come out, so if you don’t have enough units, your guests won’t be pleased.
People With Disabilities
Are you going to have people with disabilities at your event? Then you’ll need to rent out handicap porta potties especially for them. If you don’t, then you won’t be compliant with disability laws.
In general, you need to rent out at least 1 handicap-accessible porta-john for every 20 standard ones. If you’re renting out fewer than 20 standard porta potties, then you still need to have at least 1 handicap-accessible one on the premises.
